Western blot analysis of Rat testis tissue lysate using PA5-19839, Peroxiredoxin 6 primary antibody at a dilution of 1 ug/ml (lane 1). PA5-19839 staining of Hela whole cell lysate at a dilution of 1 ug/ml (lane 2). Blot treated with a secondary HRP-conjugated Goat polyclonal anti-Rabbit antibody was used at a dilution of 1:3000.

For Western Blot, this antibody has non-specific bands at 48 kDa and 55 kDa.
This antibody is predicted to react with chicken, cow, pig and Xenopus laevis based on sequence homology.
The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the thiol-specific antioxidant protein family. This protein is a bifunctional enzyme with two distinct active sites. It is involved in redox regulation of the cell; it can reduce Hand short chain organic, fatty acid, and phospholipid hydroperoxides. It may play a role in the regulation of phospholipid turnover as well as in protection against oxidative injury.
