OPA1-03888 detects phospho-FAK (pTyr576) from human samples. The mouse, rat, chicken, and, Xenopus laevis proteins are 100% conserved but have not been tested at this time.
OPA1-03888 has been successfully used in Western blot procedures. By Western blot, this antibody detects an ~125 kDa protein representing phospho-FAK (pTyr576).

Focal adhesion kinase (FAK) is a non-receptor protein tyrosine kinase discovered as a substrate for Src and as a key element of integrin signaling. FAK plays a central role in cell spreading, differentiation, migration, cell death and acceleration of the G1 to S phase transition of the cell cycle. The phosphorylation site pTyr397 is the autophosphorylation site of FAK. The site binds Src family SH2 and the p85 subunit of phosphatidyl inositol-3 kinase (PI3-K).
