Immunohistochemical (formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded) staining of Human Hippocampus tissue using PA5-19478, anti-PSD95 antibody. Primary antibody was used at a concentration of 1 ug/ml and exposed for 15 mins at room temp. The sample was pretreated using heat mediated antigen retrieval with Sodium Citrate Buffer (pH6 / 20mins). The detection method was a HRP conjugated polymer, DAB chromogen and the sample was counterstained with haematoxylin and mounted with DPX.

This gene encodes a member of the membrane-associated guanylate kinase family. It heteromultimerizes with another MAGUK protein, DLG2, and is recruited into NMDA receptor and potassium channel clusters. These two MAGUK proteins may interact at postsynaptic sites to form a multimeric scaffold for the clustering of receptors, ion channels, and associated signaling proteins. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.
