PA1-24769 detects RSK1 p90 (phospho S221) from human samples. PA1-24769 is expected to cross react with mouse (100% conserved) and rat (100% conserved) due to sequence homology. Cross reactivity with RSK2 is expected (100% conserved). Cross reactivity with RSK3 (80% homology) and RSK4 (90% homology) is possible but has not been tested. Not yet tested in other species.
PA1-24769 has been successfully used in Western blot procedures. A431 and NIH3T3 cells treated with PMA can be used as a positive control for this antibody.

This gene encodes a member of the RSK (ribosomal S6 kinase) family of serine/threonine kinases. This kinase contains 2 nonidentical kinase catalytic domains and phosphorylates various substrates, including members of the mitogen-activated kinase (MAPK) signalling pathway. The activity of this protein has been implicated in controlling cell growth and differentiation. Alternate transcriptional splice variants, encoding different isoforms, have been characterized.
