-20° C, Avoid Freeze/Thaw Cycles |
Store vial at -20° C prior to opening. Aliquot contents and freeze at -20° C or below for extended storage. Avoid cycles of freezing and thawing. Centrifuge product if not completely clear after standing at room temperature. This product is stable for several weeks at 4° C as an undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use.
A BLAST analysis was used to suggest cross-reactivity with mouse and human based on 100% sequence homology. Cross-reactivity with TBC1D4 [p Thr642] from other sources has not been determined.
AS160 (TBC1D4) is a GTPase-activiting protein for RAB2A, RAB8A, RAB10, and RAB14. The isoform 2 version of this protein promotes the insulin-induced glucose transporter SLC2A4/GLUT4 translocation at the plasma membrane. This movement increases glucose uptake. Mutations associated with the gene cause Diabetes mellitus, non-insulin-dependent, 5 (NIDDM5).
