OPA1-03080 detects phospho-p38 alpha, beta, and gamma from human and rat tissues and cells. This antibody is expected to react with mouse, canine, monkey, and carp phospho-p38 based on sequence homology.
OPA1-03080 has been successfully used in Western blot procedures. By Western blot, this antibody detects an ~38 kDa protein representing phospho-p38 from platelet-derived growth factor (PDGF) treated NIH-3T3 cell extract.

p38 is a 38 kDa Stress Activated Protein Kinase/Map Kinase (SAPK/MAPK) represented by three isoforms, termed a, ß, and y. p38 is a dually phosphorylated and therefore fully activated by MEK3 and MEK6 on threonine and 180 and tyrosine 182 within the activation loop. The JNK and p38 pathways function to modulate cell-cycle, apoptotic and transcriptional responses to stress.
