Immunofluorescent analysis of SIX5 showing staining in the cytoplasm of Hela cells using a SIX5 polyclonal antibody (Product # PA5-35125) followed by detection using a fluorescent conjugated secondary antibody (green). Cytoplasmic actin was stained with a fluorescent red phalloidin (7units/ml, 1 h at 37°C). Nuclei were stained with DAPI (blue) (10 ug/ml, 10 min).

This antibody is predicted to react with mouse based on sequence homology.
The protein encoded by this gene is a homeodomain-containing transcription factor that appears to function in the regulation of organogenesis. This gene is located downstream of the dystrophia myotonica-protein kinase gene. Mutations in this gene are a cause of branchiootorenal syndrome type 2.
