In Western blot a band can be seen at ~65 kDa representing CHT and a band can also be seen at ~45 kDa after deglycosylation with PNGase F.
Suggested positive control: antigen standard for SLC5A7 (transient overexpression lysate), rat striatum protein.
Acetylcholine functions as a neurotransmitter in both the central and peripheral nervous systems of all vertebates, and is the principle neurotransmitter used at the neuromuscular junction. Presynaptic synthesis of acetylcholine requires a steady supply of choline, which is acquired by a plasma membrane high affinity choline transporter (CHT).
