Positive Control: Jurkat cell lysate HepG2 cell lysate, MCF7 cell lysate, Huh7 cell lysate, T-47D cell lysate, human placenta tissue.
Tissue Specificity: Expressed in placenta and 180 other cell types or tissues.
Subcellular Location: Cytoplasmic vesicle. Endoplasmic reticulum.
Sequence Similarities: No Cross with Mouse/Rat.
Predicted band size: 65 kDa.
The protein encoded by this gene catalyzes the conversion of sulfated steroid precursors to estrogens during pregnancy. The encoded protein is found in the endoplasmic reticulum, where it acts as a homodimer. Mutations in this gene are known to cause X-linked ichthyosis (XLI).
