Immunofluorescent analysis of SUV39H1 (green) in human hepatocytes. The cells were fixed, permeabilized and blocked. Cells were stained with a SUV39H1 polyclonal antibody (Product # PA5-29470) at a dilution of 1:500, followed by staining with Alexa fluor 488 goat anti-rabbit secondary antibody (Product # A11008) at a dilution of 1:500 (green). Nuclei (blue) were counterstained with DAPI. Images were taken at 50X magnification. Data courtesy of the Antibody Data Exchange Program.

PA5-29470 targets SUV39H1 in IF, IP, IHC (P), and WB applications and shows reactivity with Human and mouse samples.
The PA5-29470 immunogen is recombinant fragment corresponding to a region within amino acids 179 and 412 of Human SUV39H1.
This gene is a member of the suppressor of variegation 3-9 homolog family and encodes a protein with a chromodomain and a C-terminal SET domain. This nuclear protein moves to the centromeres during mitosis and functions as a histone methyltransferase, methylating Lys-9 of histone H3. Overall, it plays a vital role in heterochromatin organization, chromosome segregation, and mitotic progression.
