MP390 detects natural and recombinant TNF alpha, with a predicted molecular weight of approximately 25 kDa. This antibody will not cross-react with human or mouse TNFa, mouse TNFb, or porcine TNFb.
This is a carrier-free low endotoxin formulation, <1.0 EU/mg.
This product can be used as a coating antibody in a sandwich ELISA (100 µg/well) in combination with biotin-labeled TNFa monoclonal antibody (Product # M302B, 0.1-0.65 µg/mL). For Western blot, this antibody has been successfully used in conjunction with 0.02 µg/mL Biotin-conjugated Goat-anti-Mouse IgG (Product # 31800), 0.05 µg/mL HRP-conjugated Streptavidin (Product # N100), and recombinant Porcine TNFa (Product # RPTNFAI), followed by visualization using SuperSignal® West Pico Chemiluminescent Substrate (Product # 34080).
This gene encodes a multifunctional proinflammatory cytokine that belongs to the tumor necrosis factor (TNF) superfamily. This cytokine is mainly secreted by macrophages. It can bind to, and thus functions through its receptors TNFRSF1A/TNFR1 and TNFRSF1B/TNFBR. This cytokine is involved in the regulation of a wide spectrum of biological processes including cell proliferation, differentiation, apoptosis, lipid metabolism, and coagulation. This cytokine has been implicated in a variety of diseases, including autoimmune diseases, insulin resistance, and cancer. Knockout studies in mice also suggested the neuroprotective function of this cytokine.
