MA1-25821 detects TTF1 from human, mouse, and rat samples.
MA1-25821 has been successfully used in Western blot an immunohistochemistry (paraffin) procedures. Antigen retrieval should be carried out with 10 mM citrate buffer, pH 6.0, for 10 minutes followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 minutes before commencing with the IHC staining protocol. Possible positive controls for this product are MAD109 cells and normal thyroid or lung.
The MA1-25821 immunogen is recombinant, full length rat protein.
TTF 1 is a transcription factor that binds and activates the promoter of thyroid specific genes such as thyroglobulin, thyroperoxidase, and thyrotropin receptor. Crucial in the maintenance of the thyroid differentiation phenotype. May play a role in lung development and surfactant homeostasis.
