In Western blot, this antibody recognizes an endogenous band at ~150 kDa in whole cell extract and a band at ~180 kDa in baculovirus-derived his-tagged protein.
Suggested positive control: Hela whole cell extract.
The ~142 kDa Tankyrase protein is ubiquitously expressed in mammalian cells and is localized to human telomeres. It has homology to ankyrins and to the catalytic domain of poly (adenosine diphosphate-ribose) polymerase (PARP). Tankyrase binds to TRF1 (telomeric repeat binding factor-1), which negatively regulates the maintenance of telomere length.
