The PA1-18350 immunogen is a synthetic peptide corresponding to residues C-Y(531) F S H L K E Y V A S(541) of human capsaicin receptor, conjugated to KLH.
After reconstitution keep aliquots at -20°C for a higher stability, and at 4°C with an appropriate antibacterial agent.
Reconstitute with 100 ul of distilled water.
The cloned VR1 is about 95-kDa protein. Both the N- and C- termini of VR1 are intracellular. The structure and amino acid sequence of VR1 is similar to those of the transient receptor potential (TRP) family of cation channels. Vanilloid receptor 1 is a receptor-activated non-selective calcium permeant cation channel involved in detection of noxious chemical and thermal stimuli. VR1 seems to mediate proton influx and may be involved in intracellular acidosis in nociceptive neurons. It may be involved in mediation of inflammatory pain and hyperalgesia. VR1 is sensitized by a phosphatidylinositol second messenger system activated by receptor tyrosine kinases, which involves PKC isozymes and PCL.
