Western blot analysis was performed on nuclear enriched extracts (30 ug lysate) of Jurkat (Lane 1), IM-9 (Lane 2), U-87 MG (Lane 3), T98G (Lane 4), A549 (Lane 5), and MCF7 (Lane 6). The blot was probed with Mouse Anti-CDK6 Monoclonal Antibody (Product # LFMA0155, 2 ug/ml) and detected by chemiluminescence using Goat anti-Mouse IgG (H+L) Superclonal™ Secondary Antibody, HRP conjugate (Product # A28177, 0.25 ug/ml, 1:4000 dilution). A 38 kDa band corresponding to CDK6 was observed across the cell lines tested. Additional bands observed in the 170 -200 kDa range potentially correspond to the Cyclin D-cdk6 complex as reported in literature. Known quantity of protein samples were electrophoresed using Novex® NuPAGE® 4-12 % Bis-Tris gel (Product # NP0321BOX), XCell SureLock™ Electrophoresis System (Product # EI0002) and Novex® Sharp Pre-Stained Protein Standard (Product # LC5800). Resolved proteins were then transferred onto a nitrocellulose membrane with iBlot® 2 Dry Blotting System (Product # IB21001). The membrane was probed with the relevant primary and secondary Antibody following blocking with 5 % skimmed milk. Chemiluminescent detection was performed using Novex® ECL Chemiluminescent Substrate Reagent Kit (Product # WP20005).

The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the albumin gene family. It is a multifunctional protein found in plasma, ascitic fluid, cerebrospinal fluid and on the surface of many cell types. It binds to vitamin D and its plasma metabolites and transports them to target tissues.
