Immunofluorescent analysis of beta-Catenin (green) in A431 and HeLa cells. Formalin fixed cells were permeabilized with 0.1% Triton X-100 in TBS for 10 minutes at room temperature and blocked with 1% Blocker BSA (Product # 37525) for 15 minutes at room temperature. Cells were probed with a monoclonal antibody (Product # MA1-301), at a dilution of 1:50 for at least 1 hour at room temperature, washed with PBS, and incubated with DyLight 488 goat anti-mouse IgG secondary antibody (Product # 35502) at a dilution of 1:400 for 30 minutes at room temperature. Nuclei (blue) were stained with Hoechst 33342 dye (Product # 62249). Images were taken on a Thermo Scientific ArrayScan at 20X magnification.

MA1-301 detects beta Catenin from human, mouse, monkey, and rat samples.
MA1-301 has been successfully used in Western blot, gel shift, immunohistochemistry (paraffin), and immunofluorescence applications. By Western blot this antibody detects a ~94 kDa protein representing beta Catenin.
Beta Catenin is thought to play a role in cell-cell communication and adhesion, and possibly cell morphology. In the nucleus, beta Catenin serves to co activate a family of Lef/Tcf transcription factors that stimulate transcription of target genes including those encoding cyclin D and c-myc that promote cell proliferation. This influence on cell proliferation is the molecular basis for the role of beta Catenin in tumorgenesis, in particular solid tumors of the breast, colon, liver, lung, gastric, prostate, and skin.
IP-MS enrichment of CTNNB1 (LFQ intensity): CTNNB1 was enriched 142-fold from HCT116 lysate compared to background proteins, using the optimized IP-MS workflow with Pierce MS-Compatible Magnetic IP Kit protein A/G (Product # 90409) and CTNNB1 antibody (Product # MA1-301).
