PA1-4560 detects delta Opioid Receptor from human, mouse, and rat samples.
PA1-4560 has been successfully used in Western blotting applications. This antibody will detect a dominant band of ~48 kDa representing the monomer form of DOR-1, and may also detect dimers or trimers as heterodimerization and homodimerization is common.
The PA1-4560 immunogen is a synthetic peptide corresponding to residues T(361) P S D G P G G G A A A(372) of human DOR-1.
G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs) are the largest family of membrane receptors that activate intracellular signaling cascades and undergo endocytosis, recycling, or degradation upon stimulation. The mu, delta and kappa opioid receptors are GPCRs of the nervous system, which control pain, stress, and addictive behaviors. The delta opioid receptor (DOR-1) is the stereoselective receptor for enkephalins and inhibits neurotransmitter release by reducing calcium ion currents and increasing potassium ion conductance.
