This antibody is predicted to react with bovine, chicken, canine, amphibian, porcine, rabbit and rat based on sequence homology.
Heat-mediated antigen retrieval is recommended prior to staining, using a 10mM citrate buffer, pH 6.0, for 10 minutes followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 min. Following antigen retrieval, incubate samples with primary antibody for 10 min at room temperature. A suggested positive control is breast carcinoma.
Extracellular signal-regulated kinase 2 (Erk2) is also known as mitogen activated protein kinase 2, microtubule-associate protein-2 kinase MAP kinase2, p42-MAPK or EGF receptor T669 (ERT1). Mek2 activates Erk2 by phosphorylation of neighboring threonine-183 and tyrosine-185 residues. Erk2, a serine-threonine kinase phosphorylates microtubule associated protein-2 and myelin basic protein. This kinase is an important proximal component of the MAP kinase pathway involved in transmitting the signals from growth factors, neurotransmitters and hormones at the cell surface to the transcriptional events in the nucleus.
