Thermo Scientific™ Decapper 500 and Decapper 550
The Thermo Scientific™ Decapper 500 provides automated decapping and capping of Thermo Scientific™ Matrix™ and Thermo Scientific™ Nunc™ Tubes with screw top closures in ANSI racks. Quick Switch Technology allows researchers who use both Matrix and Nunc tubes to seamlessly switch between cap styles and rack styles, 96- and 48-format, with only a quick switch of the cap adaptors in the head of the unit. The Decapper 550 includes a built-in barcode reader, eliminating the need for additional instruments. Both the Decapper 500 and Decapper 550 have a modular, industrial design, touchscreen user interface, and remote diagnostics for ease of servicing. All the features of the decapper make it an ideal choice for medium to high throughput labs seeking reliable capping and decapping for high value samples or processing large quantities of storage tubes. The Thermo Scientific VisionMate Wireless Barcode Reader is a versatile sample tracking instrument that decodes 2D and linear barcodes, as well as QR codes. The wireless reader utilizes Bluetooth technology to allow mobility in the lab, cold room or in the field to yield efficient sample identification and tracking, and for direct input into a paired workstation, LIMS or portable device. The VisionMate wireless reader is capable of reading any barcode of ANSI Grade D or better including Thermo Scientific linear and 2D barcodes and those of most major manufacturers, making it well-suited for multi-facility applications.
Now available in two convenient sizes, TSX Series ultra-low freezers provide temperature uniformity that adapts to your environment, protecting samples and offering significant energy savings. While conventional ultra-low freezers use single speed compressors that continually cycle on and off, the TSX's V-drive runs at variable speeds, adjusting cooling performance to the conditions are stable, the Vdrive runs at a low speed, reducing energy consumption while maintaining a stable temperature for sample protection. When there are frequent door openings, or samples are added to the freezer, the system detects the activity and increases the drive speed. Our new TSX400 size offers high-capacity storage within a small freezer footprint.
Modify six standard preset and 10 user-defined (20 steps each) freezing profiles for custom protocols to meet application needs with CryoMed Controlled-Rate Freezers: complete, one-piece freezing systems. Assempling and connecting electrical components has been eliminated with an integrated control panel and thermal printer. However, freezer funcionality may be enhanced by adding a PC, installing MS Windows™-based Controlled-Rate Freezing PC Interface software (included), and connecting an external inkjet printer.

Nucleic acid extraction from biological fluids and cell-free samples (serum, plasma, swabs, cell culture media, blood, semen, feces, soil and milk) presents unique challenges including low concentrations of extractable nucleic acid, large volumes to be processed, and sample complexity.
