Reveal 2020: An Unprecedented Experience, Available On-Demand

Reveal 2020 materials and structural analysis virtual event

We just completed Reveal 2020, our largest virtual event ever. More than 3,000 of you joined us for live presentations that provided information on a range of topics aimed at pushing the boundaries of materials and structural analysis.

All of the Reveal 2020 presentations are now available to watch on-demand. There are 36 sessions dedicated to a specific area of research, including Science for Sustainability, Next-Gen Materials, Cryo-EM for Drug Discovery, Quality Control Solutions, Cryo-EM Innovations, and Pharmaceutical Formulation and Analysis. Read below for more information on each of these areas.

Reveal 2020 was designed to help our customers address their most pressing materials and structural analysis challenges. On-demand viewing is available through Sept. 30.

Science for Sustainability

The Science for Sustainability series highlighted how customers use electron microscopy and spectroscopy instruments and techniques to deepen their understanding of air, water, and soil contaminants, investigate bio-friendly alternatives to environmentally harmful materials, and enhance their research into alternative energy resources. Sessions focused on characterizing microplastics and nanoparticles, lithium ion battery analysis, and analytical tools for air and soil analysis. It also included an environmental panel discussion where customers and experts discussed the latest techniques for improving energy sources and removing harmful contaminants from our environment.

Next-Gen Materials

Materials researchers tuning into the Next-Gen Materials series expanded their toolset for multi-scale, multi-modal analysis to develop lighter, stronger and more advanced materials of the future. The series included sessions on new energy storage technologies and multi-modal analysis of 2D materials. Viewers discovered how to characterize catalysts and the best instruments and techniques to drive additive manufacturing solutions forward.

Cryo-EM for Drug Discovery

The Cryo-EM for Drug Discovery series showed researchers how to get structural insights of their most challenging drug targets at near-atomic resolution. Life scientists were introduced to our new iSPA workflow, an innovative cryo-EM solution optimized for pharma and biotech companies. They heard how this innovative solution allows researchers to achieve previously unobtainable structural results, quadruple their productivity and speed their time to drug discovery.

Quality Control Solutions

By watching the Quality Control Solutions series, lab managers and technicians learned how to maximize their quality assurance (QA) and quality control (QC) lab productivity with the latest tools and tips for efficient analytical testing. The sessions focused on comprehensive polymer analyses, inclusions and precipitates in metals, and tools to convert data to answers. This series also included a panel discussion where experts shared tips for improving QA/QC lab productivity.

Cryo-EM Innovations

The Cryo-EM Innovations series took life scientists through the latest innovations in cryo-EM, the leading technique for visualizing structures at a near-atomic resolution in their near-native states. Viewers heard from cryo-EM experts who shared how this technology is used to better understand complex biological molecules with unprecedented ease and efficiency. Content ranged from cryo-EM for non-experts to enhancing cryo-EM productivity with the Falcon 4 Direct Electron Detector, to automation-enhanced sample preparation for cryo-electron tomography.

Pharmaceutical Formation and Analysis

In this series, pharmaceutical researchers learned how to improve processes for discovering, developing, and commercializing drugs, while ensuring quality at each step. They learned how to use hot melt extrusion to improve drug solubility and deliver consistent formulations. The session also highlighted spectroscopic techniques for identifying and sizing API domains for pharmaceutical tablets and outlined how to perform quality control testing using processes that ensure data integrity and regulatory compliance.
