As science dissects the biology of these organisms, we get more insight into the true relationship between the virus and the associated consequences. Scientists around the world are also scouring to find potential ways or to stop the virus from replicating within human cells. Even today, a year later, Zika continues to spread across continents and countries and is a major concern. The thing that truly sets the Zika virus apart from deadlier outbreaks, like the Ebola virus, is that it targets the most innocent and indefensible of humans; newborns.
