company was developing a PCR-based assay to screen for the pathogens behind hundreds of infectious diseases.\u00a0 They found that DNA contamination from host cells in most commercially available <em>Taq<\/em> polymerase could lead to false findings as well as a need in performance requirement for their highly sensitive assays.\u00a0 After evaluating enzymes from several suppliers, they came to Thermo Fisher Scientific for custom solution to meet their performance criteria.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright\" multiple favorable mutations into a wild-type enzyme, resulting in performance improvements of enzyme function.\u00a0 With these engineered enzymes, molecular DNA-based assay design and development
