Shanghai Zidong Achieves Superior Thin Film Measurement and Control

Shanghai Zidong Film Material Co. Ltd. specializes in printing, packaging, electrical insulation and industrial grade polyester films (BOPET). The company has three, two-way stretch polyester film production lines with advanced level computer controls. This also includes advanced production test equipment specially developed for the BOPET film process to ensure high quality and process efficiency.

Quality film is Shanghai Zidong’s top objective. When they installed their third production line, a web gauging system was an integral part of the project. Line 3 manufactures BOPET film in the thickness range from 3.8 to 6.0 microns and runs at 200-250m/min with 6.7m final trim. These film thicknesses demand accurate, sensitive measurement and Advanced Profile Control (APC) to ensure production efficiency and to meet final quality specifications.
