Industry professionals come from all over the world to attend Coal Prep<\/a>, the annual coal processing exhibition and conference, and share the latest ideas and most effective techniques on coal preparation and processing plant technologies.<\/p>\n

There will be professionals from every aspect of coal preparation attending the show to discover innovative processes to improve plant operations and get in-depth information on the latest industry trends and developments. Equipment manufacturers and process engineering firms will be demonstrating the latest in coal preparation technology and equipment.<\/p>\n

If you are in mining<\/a> or plant operations, whether it\u2019s quality control, engineering, research and development, material handling, or other key positions, make sure you check out the educational workshops, especially the one geared toward plant performance testing.\u00a0 The speaker believes that ensuring a preparation plant is maximizing a mine\u2019s profitability, requires knowing how efficiently the major circuits in your plant are performing.<\/p>\n

After the workshop, make sure you stop by our booth (#1405) to learn how a coal analyzer<\/a> can help improve performance, minimize variations in coal quality, meet specifications, and enhance boiler efficiency with minute-by-minute quality analysis of critical coal streams. \u00a0\u00a0In addition, an analyzer can measure and report levels of sulfur, moisture, total ash, calorific value, ash elemental concentration, and other critical parameters required by both coal consumers and producers to maximize the use of coal resources and reduce pollutants.<\/p>\n

Another way to help ensure your coal meets requirements is to monitor and control your conveyor belt feed to crushers, mills, screens and other processes.\u00a0 A belt scale system<\/a> can monitor production output and inventory, or control product loadout, while providing vital information for the management and operation of your business.<\/p>\n

You should also try to attend the conference Keynote session.\u00a0 The coal industry is under great pressure from regulatory authorities as well as price competition from natural gas.\u00a0 You can expect to learn how the coal Industry may react to these two threats.<\/p>\n

And speaking of pressure, if you stay a few extra days in Kentucky, be aware that the kickoff for Kentucky Derby<\/a> Week starts April 30th<\/sup>.\u00a0 The pressure will be on for those 20 derby horses, their riders and owners participating in \u201cthe most exciting two minutes in sports.\u201d Although the 142nd running of the $2 million guaranteed Kentucky Derby will not be held until May 7th<\/sup>, there will be plenty of Derby-related activities to enjoy leading up to the event. If you can\u2019t get to the Derby, the Kentucky Oaks is just as exciting.\u00a0 The Oaks<\/a> \u00a0is run on the Friday before the Derby.\u00a0 Don\u2019t plan to travel near downtown on Thursday evening by car.\u00a0 That is when the big Pegasus Parade<\/a> takes place.\u00a0 Many streets are closed and traffic is gridlocked.\u00a0 You will be able to find Derby and Oaks parties at just about any bar\/restaurant\/hotel in town, but if you plan to stay make sure you extend your hotel reservation now.\u00a0 All hotel rooms within about 90 miles will be sold out by the time Coal Prep starts, if they haven\u2019t already been booked solid.<\/p>\n
