Dr. Stephen F. Gorfien
Stephen F. Gorfien - Ph.D. in Experimental Pathology from the State University of New York at Buffalo, and completed postdoctoral training at the Connective Tissue Research Institute in Philadelphia, PA concentrating on vascular cell biology, followed by an American Heart Association Special Investigatorship in endothelial cell-matrix interactions. Currently Senior Director of BioProduction R&D in Thermo Fisher Scientific.
Angel Varela, PhD.
Cell Culture R&D lead for of cell culture media development for Cell Therapy. Received a B.S. in Biological Sciences at the University of Puerto Rico and a Ph.D. in Immunology from the University of Pennsylvania. Research background includes development of T cell-based immunotherapies for cancer and HIV, recombinant viral vaccines; and viral vectors for cell engineering.
Pablo Fernandez, PhD.
Pablo graduated as food technologist in 1993 and later became a bioprocess engineer in 1998 after graduating from the Veracruz Institute of Technology (Mexico), then obtained a master degree in biotechnology from the CINVESTAV of the National Polytechnic Institute (Mexico). He has joined ThermoFisher Scientific on March 2013 where serves as a Field Applications Specialist focusing on Single-Use Technologies for the Latin America region.
Shelly Parra, PhD.
Shelly Parra has over 20 years of experience in biotherapeutic process development, scale-up, technology transfer, manufacturing, and validation. Mrs. Parra is currently head of global purification field applications at Thermo Fisher Scientific and works with customers at all different scales with POROS and CaptureSelect chromatography resins ranging from 10 microliters to 1000 liters.
