Beta-glucuronidase (GUS) activity in Synechococcus elongatus

The gene for beta-glucuronidase (GUS) was cloned into vector pSyn_6 and transformed into Synechococcus elongatus (negative for GUS activity) following manufacturer's recommended protocols. GUS activity levels were >100-fold over those seen in previous systems.
