Dynabeads Magnetic Beads can be used to isolate a number of different organelles and organelle-specific proteins. This magnetic separation technology enables the specific isolation of true fractions in small volumes, and can replace time-consuming and labor-intensive density gradient centrifugations.

Advantages include:

  • Rapid, high-purity isolations from crude fractions or fractions of common densities
  • Morphologically intact target organelles can be fixed for EM studies or solubilized directly on the bead surface
  • Immunomagnetically isolated organelles can be assayed by conventional techniques
  • Easy protocol yields high-purity functional organelles

As more and more organelle-specific markers are identified, the corresponding immunomagnetic isolation of subgroups of organelles can be performed. Examples of organelles or organelle fractions that have been isolated with Dynabeads include exosomesmitochondriaperoxisomeskidney glomeruli, and endondocytic and secretory compartments.
