A developing egg of a freshwater snail stained with SYTO® 9 nucleic acid stain (Cat. No. S34854), a component of our LIVE/DEAD® BacLight™ Bacterial Viability Kit (Cat. No. L7007, L7012). The SYTO® 9 stain highlights the individual nuclei of multiple cells in this partially flattened preparation. The series of z-section images was acquired with a Deltavision wide-field optical sectioning microscope (Applied Precision, Inc.). A movie was generated from a deconvolved z-image stack.
