UltraComp and OneComp eBeads Microspheres
Compensation simplified
Invitrogen™ OneComp and UltraComp eBeads™ compensation particles are polystyrene microspheres that contain a mixture of antibody-coated positive compensation beads and uncoated negative compensation beads, combined in one vial. Dispense the eBeads as a single drop for compensation made easy. UltraComp eBeads microspheres were developed with the same benefits as OneComp eBeads microspheres with the added advantage of being optimized for use on the violet laser. eBeads cross-react to some antibodies of rabbit origin, but have not been extensively tested for this reactivity.
Traditional compensation beads, when used on the violet laser, typically provide poor compensation values when incorporating the increasing number of violet-emitting fluorochromes. UltraComp eBeads were developed to provide a reliably bright signal, resulting in greater accuracy when calculating spillover values.
Advantages of UltraComp eBeads microspheres:
- Optimized for the violet laser
- Supplied in a single vial—one drop contains both positive and negative beads
- Suitable for multiple species: hamster, mouse, rat
- Recognizes both kappa and lambda chains
Figure 1. Staining of UltraComp eBeads with 13 different Invitrogen™ eFluor™ 450 dye–conjugated monoclonal antibodies, including one of each subclass commonly used in flow cytometry. Beads were stained with 0.25 µg of each antibody and analyzed by flow cytometry. Each histogram represents one staining antibody (isotype and marker indicated at right, except for Rat IgG2a and Hamster antibodies, for which the isotype and clone are indicated).
Figure 2. Using UltraComp eBeads microspheres for compensation of Invitrogen™ eFluor™ 506 dye–conjugated antibodies results in accurately compensated data.
