Guiding timely intervention with the PreClara Ratio
Case study: University of Chicago Medicine

Patient profile: A 49-year-old G5P0 with CHTN, complicated PMH, and preeclampsia risk factors presents at 24+6 weeks gestation with one mild range blood pressure reading. There is a clinical suspicion for preeclampsia.
PreClara Ratio result: 362 (high-risk result)
Disposition: The care team continued admission and increased maternal and fetal surveillance, administering corticosteroids and following standard of care protocol.
Outcome: Delivery via classical C-section at 26+3 weeks for severe preeclampsia, transaminitis, FGR, and non-reassuring fetal well-being.
The PreClara Ratio provided crucial, time-sensitive information that helped confirm the need for enhanced surveillance, potentially minimizing the risk of maternal and fetal complications associated with severe preeclampsia.
