Detection of apoptotic cells in mouse brain tissue

Mouse brain was isolated and formalin fixed/paraffin embedded (FFPE). After sectioning, the tissue was treated with Click-iT TUNEL Colorimetric reagents and Luxol Fast Blue Stain. Due to hypoxic conditions, dead and dying apoptotic cells (dark brown) are clearly visible. Image captured using the 20X objective on the EVOS™ FL Auto Cell Imaging System.
