Modernizing Dioxin Analysis for Food Control: Introducing a New GC Orbitrap

Webinar

September 1, Tuesday

11:30am New Delhi | 2:00pm Singapore/Taipei | 3:00pm Seoul/Tokyo | 4:00pm Sydney | 6:00pm Wellington

Looking to simplify your dioxin and persistent organic pollutants (POPs) analysis while maintaining the high analytical performance required for regulatory compliance?

Join this webinar to discover how the new Thermo Scientific™ Orbitrap Exploris™ GC S mass spectrometer is redefining high-resolution GC-MS for testing laboratories. Learn how Orbitrap technology delivers the performance needed for dioxin analysis while providing a modern alternative to traditional magnetic sector GC-HRMS systems.

Featuring Dr. Kerstin Kratschmer (Wageningen Food Safety Research) and Dominic Roberts (Thermo Fisher Scientific), this session will showcase real application data, demonstrate analytical performance against regulatory requirements, and explore how laboratories can future-proof their workflows for dioxins and other persistent organic pollutants.

Speakers

Dominic Roberts | Product Marketing Manager, GC-MS | Thermo Fisher Scientific

Dominic Roberts has been closely involved with the Thermo Scientific GC Orbitrap MS since its launch in 2015. He started at Thermo Fisher Scientific as a Senior Applications Specialist for the product and is currently the GC Orbitrap MS Marketing Manager. Dominic is an experienced analytical chemist and mass spectrometrist with more than 20 years of experience using state-of-the-art analytical systems. He has worked in both a regulatory and industrial environment with GC–MS and LC–MS systems to investigate a variety of chemicals in food, biological, and environmental samples.

Dr Kerstin Krӓtschmer | Head of the Dutch National Reference Laboratory for POPs | Wageningen Food Safety Research

Kerstin has a PhD in food chemistry and is currently head of the Dutch NRL POPs situated at Wageningen Food Safety Research (WFSR) in Wageningen, the Netherlands. She earned her PhD at the European Union Reference Laboratory for halogenated POPs in Freiburg, Germany, exploring polychlorinated alkanes analysis using GC-Orbitrap-HRAM. Within her current work as researcher in the contaminants team at WFSR, she covers a wide range of topics from PCDD/Fs to radioactivity in food, looking into new detection methods, fate in the circular food system, emerging risks and crisis preparedness.
