We believe that the best information comes from firsthand experience. Coming June 1, 2022, our new docuseries, Letters of Hope, will address the realities of life with a transplant.
Hosted by our patient advocate, Valen Keefer, the series will explain the ups and downs, the challenges, and the hope, that someone might experience before, during, and after receiving a transplant. For those considering donation, you can access several interviews with living donors who talk about the process and the positive impact it’s had on their lives.
Being a transplant recipient is a lifelong and transformative journey. To reach the peaks and triumphs, one must traverse the valleys and endure some trauma.
Healing is not linear, and not all wounds are physical; there's the mental health aspect as well.
And it isn't just the patient who is emotionally impacted, it's the caregivers too.
Through my letters of hope, I share the trials and triumphs of transplantation from diagnosis to post-transplant care.
I want to show that you don't have to go through this alone and that we can not only survive but thrive as transplant recipients.
In a lifetime of chronic illness, I've learned valuable lessons and surprising insights that have helped me endure and navigate my path to and through kidney and liver transplantation.
Now my greatest wish is that my stories will help educate and empower YOU on your journey.
