TrypLE™ Select is an animal origin free, recombinant enzyme for dissociating a wide range of adherent mammalian cells, including CHO, HEK 293, A549, primary human keratinocytes, and embryonic stem cells. We offer a variety of TrypLE™ formulations for a range of cell culture applications.

Compared to trypsin and other dissociation reagents, Gibco™ TrypLE™ Select is:

Gentle on cells—maintains cell health for reproducible results
Room-temperature stable—convenient to use
Easy to use—substitutes directly into existing protocols, with no inactivation required
Animal origin free (AOF)—pure, consistent, and effective

This TrypLE™ Select is modified as follows:

With
• EDTA

Without
• Phenol Red

The formulation of TrypLE™ solutions is available, although we keep the enzyme concentration confidential.

Gentle on cells
TrypLE™ Select, like trypsin, cleaves peptide bonds on the C-terminal sides of lysine and arginine. However, TrypLE™ Select's exceptional purity increases specificity due to the action of a single enzyme. This reduces damage caused by cleavage from multiple enzymes in trypsin and other extracts.

Room-temperature stable
TrypLE™ Select is room-temperature stable and ready to use. TrypLE™ Select cell dissociation reagents remain stable for 24 months at room temperature or 2–8°C, making storage and handling easy and convenient.

Easy to use
TrypLE™ Select can be substituted for trypsin in existing protocols. In addition, dilution alone inactivates TrypLE™ Select, avoiding the need for trypsin inhibitors, such as FBS.

Animal Origin Free (AOF)
Unlike porcine trypsin and other enzymes, TrypLE™ Select is free of animal-derived components, and is formulated on dedicated animal origin-free equipment.

Product Intended Use
For Research Use or Further Manufacturing. Not for use in diagnostic procedures. Customers using Gibco™ TrypLE™ Select in a manufacturing process, who have a submission with the FDA, may request a letter of authorization from us to reference our Type II Drug Master File (DMF).

cGMP Manufacturing and Quality System
Gibco™ TrypLE™ Select is manufactured at a cGMP compliant facility located in Grand Island, New York. The facility is registered with the FDA as a medical device manufacturer and is certified to ISO 13485 standards.

Concentrated forms of TrypLE™ can be aseptically diluted to 1x using a balanced salt solution containing 1 mM EDTA.
