Phosphate-buffered saline (PBS) is a balanced salt solution that is used for a variety of cell culture applications, such as washing cells before dissociation, transporting cells or tissue samples, diluting cells for counting, and preparing reagents. PBS is formulated without calcium and magnesium for rinsing chelators from the culture before cell dissociation.

The facility is registered with the FDA as a medical device manufacturer and is certified to ISO 13485 standards. For supply chain continuity, we offer an identical Gibco™ PBS product made in our Scotland facility (10010023). This facility is also registered with the FDA as a medical device manufacturer and is certified to the ISO 13485 standard.
This product is not used for in vitro diagnostic purpose in some countries.
