This monoclonal antibody reacts with p53, both wild type and mutant. The epitope location is between amino acids 1 and 45 in the p53 protein product. p53 is thought to act as a tumor suppressor gene in mammalian species. Mutation of p53 may represent the most common genetic event in human malignant tumors. Positive tissue: Breast carcinoma/colon cancer.
