The ITEX-DHS technique uses a gas-tight syringe to collect the headspace and a microtrap inside the syringe needle to efficiently trap and concentrate VOCs through repeated strokes of the syringe. Scalable sensitivity can be achieved based on the number of strokes, making this a versatile approach for samples of both low and high concentrations.
For VOC analysis in many liquid and solid samples, ITEX can be a valuable alternative to classical enrichment techniques offering several benefits in terms of ease of use and robustness.
