Thermo Scientific EZ-Link Psoralen-PEG3-Biotin enables biotinylation of DNA or RNA via UV-light-activated intercalation of the psoralen group with thymine- and other pyrimidine-containing bases to form a covalent bonds.

Psoralen-PEG3-Biotin is a photoactivatable reagent for biotinylation of DNA or RNA. Upon activation with UV-Light (∼350nm), the psoralen group reacts with thymine- and other pyrimidine-containing bases to form a covalent bond. The hydrophilic polyethylene glycol (PEG)
spacer arm imparts water solubility that is transferred to the biotinylated molecule, thus reducing aggregation of labeled proteins stored in solution. The PEG spacer arm also gives this reagent a long and flexible connection to minimize steric hindrance involved with binding to avidin molecules.
