Description

This real-time PCR-based DNA quantification kit is validated for human identification applications. It quantifies the amount of amplifiable human male DNA that is present in a sample. An internal PCR control is formulated into each reaction to identify samples that may contain PCR inhibitors.

• Quantifies male DNA from a wide variety of sources including buccal swabs, blood, semen, and tissue, making this kit suitable for forensic and paternity laboratories.
• Easily integrates into current workflow.
• Internal PCR Control (IPC) allows for quick monitoring of amplification success and identifies samples that may contain inhibitors.
• Real-time PCR offers the widest dynamic range of any DNA detection technology to accurately quantify low levels of samples. Quantifies a broad range of DNA concentrations from 0.023 ng⁄ml to>50 ng⁄ml.

Maximize the Information Retrieved from Mixed Sexual Assault Samples
The kit helps detect male DNA from samples with male⁄female mixtures with a DNA ratio greater than 1:1000 male⁄female DNA. In instances of samples with male⁄female mixtures, Quantifiler® Y Male Human DNA Quantification Kit helps you to choose the optimal kit for short tandem repeat (STR) analysis. It also helps you more accurately determine the amount of sample input into your STR amplification reaction.
