The Ion PGM™ system requires that water used in sequencing contain very low levels of Total Oxidisable Carbon (TOC) and undetectable levels of nucleases. The ELGA® PURELAB® flex water purification system is designed to connect to your existing water supply and provide sufficient quantities of high grade water for your sequencing needs.

Features include:

• Produces 18.2 MΩ-cm, Type I ultrapure water
• Removes biologically active molecules (such as nucleases)
• TOC of less than 5 ppb (typically <1 ppb)
• Achieves purity through constant monitoring of inorganic quality and TOC
• Arrives ready-to-go with all required filtration components
• Simple to use, with easy to replace purification packs
• Tested and approved for performance with the Ion PGM™ system

The PURELAB® flex system combines deionization and ultra filtration technologies with UV photo oxidization to provide the right quality of water for use with the Ion PGM™ sequencer. The system effectively removes biologically active substances and produces water with 18.2 MΩ-cm resistivity and <5 ppb TOC.

A 185/254 nm UV lamp enables the low TOC water production needed for organic-sensitive applications. The PURELAB® flex system includes a unique monitoring system (with alarm) that shows you the current TOC value at any given time. A set of prioritized information is displayed at all times: system status, resistivity, and TOC. Data may be captured via USB for system performance validation.

A Point of Use biofilter removes endotoxins, DNases, Rnases, and bacteria to produce water that meets the following specifications:

• Bacteria: <10 CFU/100 ml
• Endotoxin: <0.001 EU/ml
• RNase: <0.002 ng/ml
• DNase: <20 pg/ml

Quick and Easy Sanitization
Minimize microbial growth for absolute confidence in the water purity. The simple procedure involves one single sanitization pack so no harsh chemicals need to be ordered, handled, or mixed. No additional consumables need to be replaced during this short process.

The PURELAB® flex system has a highly flexible dispensing arm with your choice of 4 different methods of dispensing water (variable flow, autovolume dispense, foot pedal contol, and locked dispense). Optional accessories include wall mounting bracket, foot pedal, Point of Use filters, and leak detector.

Flex 2 or Flex 3?
Whether to choose the flex 2 or flex 3 system depends on two things: your source of feed water and your daily water requirements. The flex 3 system can accommodate tap water as a feed source; the flex 2 system requires pre-purified water (preferably reverse osmosis (RO) or filtered service deionization (SDI) or distilled water). The flex 2 system can accommodate daily water needs of >10 L, while the flex 3 system is appropriate for daily needs of <10 L.
