The PrioCHECK® Toxoplasma Antibody SR ELISA was especially developed for the detection of Toxoplasma infections in sheep and goats. The test shows a high sensitivity and specificity and clearly differentiates between positive and negative blood samples. The obtained results therefore form a reliable basis for the implementation of measures to decrease the presence of Toxoplasma in sheep and goat flocks. The ELISA format allows fast and efficient testing of samples in a four-step protocol. Ninety prepared samples can be analyzed within 150 minutes, making the test fast and cost-efficient. The PrioCHECK® Toxoplasma Antibody SR ELISA is easy to use and the kit contains colored buffers that help to reduce handling errors.

Test procedure
The PrioCHECK® Toxoplasma Antibody SR ELISA is a diagnostic kit based on ELISA technology. It follows a four-step protocol consisting of sample preparation, sample incubation, conjugate incubation, and detection. Serum or meat juice samples are incubated in an ELISA plate coated with an extract of Toxoplasma tachyzoites. Anti-Toxoplasma antibodies present in the sample bind to the antigen. Plates are then washed and an anti-sheep antibody labeled with horse radish peroxidase (HRPO) is used to detect antibodies bound to the antigen. Color development using tetramethyl-benzidine (TMB) substrate measured optically at a wavelength of 450 nm shows the presence of antibodies directed against Toxoplasma gondii.
