Methyl 4-bromobenzoate is used as a starting material in the synthesis of three-carbon-bridged 5-substituted furo[2,3-d]pyrimidine and 6-substituted pyrrolo[2,3-d]pyrimidine and methyl 4-tri-n-butylstannylbenzoate. It is also used to stimulate microbial dechlorination of polychlorinated biphenyls. Further, it is used in the preparation of stable radioiodinating reagent to label monoclonal antibodies for radiotherapy of cancer.
This Thermo Scientific Chemicals brand product was originally part of the Alfa Aesar product portfolio. Some documentation and label information may refer to the legacy brand. The original Alfa Aesar product / item code or SKU reference has not changed as a part of the brand transition to Thermo Scientific Chemicals.
