N,N'-Diisopropylcarbodiimide is used as a reagent in synthetic organic chemistry. It serves as a chemical intermediate and as a stabilizer for Sarin (chemical weapon). It is also used in the synthesis of peptide and nucleic acid. Further, it is used as an antineoplastic and involved in the treatment of malignant melanoma and sarcomas. In addition to this, it is used in the synthesis of acid anhydride, aldehyde, ketone and isocyanate.

Aplicaciones
La N,N′-diisopropilcarbodiimida se utiliza como reactivo en la química orgánica sintética. Sirve como intermediario químico y como estabilizador para el sarín (arma química). Se usa en la síntesis del ácido nucleico y péptido. Además, se utiliza como antineoplásico y participa en el tratamiento del melanoma maligno y los sarcomas. También se utiliza en la síntesis del anhídrido ácido, aldehído, cetona e isocianato.

Solubilidad
Soluble en cloroformo, cloruro de metileno, acetonitrilo, dioxano, dimetilformamida y tetrahidrofurano.

Sensible a la humedad. Almacenar en un lugar fresco. Incompatible con agentes oxidantes y ácidos.
