Gibco EfficientFeed B+ 3X Supplement is a single-part liquid supplement for fed batch addition to the culture of multiple cell lines to assist with process development and maximization of bioreactor utilization. Compared to original CHO CD EfficientFeed B AGT nutrient supplement, EfficientFeed B+ 3X Supplement has components that are super-concentrated from 52.7 g/L (1X AGT) to 158.1 g/L (3X), helping reduce product dilution or increase titers with additional feeding. The supplement is an animal origin-free, chemically defined formulation that contains no proteins, hydrolysates, or components of incompletely defined composition.

Which EfficientFeed+ supplement to choose?

Consider EfficientFeed A+ Supplement when:
• You have used CHO CD EfficientFeed A supplement in the past and wish to explore simpler reconstitution and super-concentration benefits during delivery of key components
• You are currently using CD OptiCHO as your base cell growth medium

Consider EfficientFeed B+ Supplement when:
• You have used CHO CD EfficientFeed B supplement in the past and wish to explore simpler reconstitution and super-concentration benefits during delivery of key components
• You are currently using CD CHO as your base cell growth medium

Consider EfficientFeed C+ Supplement when:
• You have used CD EfficientFeed C supplement in the past and wish to explore super-concentration benefits during delivery of key components
• You want higher productivity in GS CHO, CHO-K1, and CHO-S derived cell lines
• You are currently using CD FortiCHO as your base cell growth medium
• You are using a base medium with greater than 6 g/L glucose or a hydrolysate at Day 0

Increasing titers
As a complete feed, EfficientFeed+ supplements have been shown to provide multiple-fold increases in titer versus batch culture and are an excellent starting point for process development as ready-to-use single-part liquid feeds.

Maximizing bioreactor utilization
Have you ever wished for more working volume at the start of a bioreactor run to produce more protein, but need too much feeding volume space? Have you ever thought that room for more feeding might achieve a new level of titer from a process and maybe even reduce the number of bioreactor runs needed per year? Using super-concentrated ready-to-feed liquid feeding supplements helps reduce product dilution, increase space for additional feeding, and/or increase the working volume at the start of the run. In fact, you may gain about 20% more bioreactor utilization with this super-concentrated EfficientFeed+ product.

Simplified handling to reduce risk in scale-up
The ability to scale up in liquid or AGT dry format provides ease of handling and storage in manufacturing and other bioprocess settings. Fewer parts and steps in reconstitution mean fewer opportunities for operator error. Further, the ability to store this feed, even when super-concentrated, for the length of a bioreactor run at room temperature, in the dark, helps reduce chances of contamination during closed system connections by reducing the number of connections to the bioreactor to one.
