The Slide-A-Lyzer G3 Cassettes are single-use dialysis devices designed to maximize performance and practicality. They provide an easy-to-use and secure alternative to traditional dialysis tubing and are used in a wide range of applications including low molecular-weight contaminant and salt removal, buffer exchange, and sample concentration. Unlike standard flat tubing, these innovative devices do not require knots or clips that can lead to leaking and sample loss.
The new G3 cassettes are ergonomically designed to be significantly lighter and more compact than the previous generations, making them easier to handle and more practical to use. This new design offers a new cap allowing for effortless sample loading and retrieval providing visual and haptic feedback upon opening and closure to assure sample transfer and security. Sample loading and removal is easily accomplished using a serological pipette or hypodermic needle (optional) attached to a syringe. All G3 cassettes offer a built-in air chamber that provides buoyancy and vertical orientation during the dialysis process.
Slide-A-Lyzer G3 Dialysis Cassettes are available in five different sizes, accommodating sample volumes ranging from 0.5 to 125 mL, and are provided with 2K, 3.5K, 10K, and 20K molecular weight cut offs (MWCOs).
The cassettes’ membranes are composed of low-binding regenerated cellulose that provides maximum sample purity and recovery. The membrane and cassette materials are compatible with most common laboratory chemicals and buffers.
The Slide-A-Lyzer G3 Cassettes with the 10K MWCO are also offered in the Electron Beam treated format for applications such as culturing cells, purifying viruses, or performing sample preparation for other applications requiring conditions that minimize the risk of sample contamination. A dosage that has been determined to sterilize units was used based on bioburden testing for identifying anaerobic growth. Sterility testing is not performed on individual lots.
Features of Slide-A-Lyzer G3 Dialysis Cassettes include:
• Efficient Dialysis—flat cassette chamber, housing two membranes, provides high surface-area to volume ratio maximizing diffusion rate
• Ease-of-use—sample loading and removal with a pipette and/or syringe
• High sample recovery—low-binding plastic and membrane help minimize sample loss compared to filtration and resin systems
• Maximum sample security—sealed membranes prevent leakage that can occur with dialysis tubing and homemade devices. Caps have visual and haptic feedback assuring secure closure of the sample chamber
• Stream-lined design—less plastic, lighter weight devices
• Self-floating format—designed to float independently without the use of external buoys
• Irradiated option—E-beam irradiated cassettes are available for applications requiring conditions that minimize risk of sample contamination
