The Luminex xMAP INTELLIFLEX System is the newest addition to the xMAP line of instruments. It comes in two configurations: the Luminex xMAP INTELLIFLEX System (Cat. No. APX2020) and the Luminex xMAP INTELLIFLEX DR-SE System (Cat. No. APX2021). The main differences between the configurations are the dual reporter and side eject features available in the DR-SE configuration.
The Luminex xMAP INTELLIFLEX DR-SE System represents the most advanced and versatile multiplexing platform, including novel dual reporter readout capability and side eject door and featuring an embedded PC with a touchscreen interface with a reduced footprint compared to the Luminex 200 and FLEXMAP 3D systems. With automated start up, shut down, and maintenance routines, the Luminex xMAP INTELLIFLEX System is easy to use and maintain, providing fast read times for both 96- and 384-well plate formats. The system is compatible with all Invitrogen ProcartaPlex multiplex immunoassays and Invitrogen QuantiGene Plex multiplex gene expression assays.
In comparison to the base model, the xMAP INTELLIFLEX DR-SE System has an additional violet reporter laser and detector that makes this system the only Luminex xMAP system capable of measuring up to two parameters per bead region. Moreover, it features a plate holder that can perform a side eject in addition to front eject.
Features of the Luminex xMAP INTELLIFLEX DR-SE System include:
• Reporter laser (RP1):

The open architecture of Luminex xMAP technology uses microspheres, digital signal processing, and traditional chemistry—combining proven technologies in a unique way.
Advantages of Luminex xMAP technology include:
• Helps reduce costs and labor through multiplexing
• Smaller sample size requirements compared to single result assays
• Enables fast, reproducible results from favorable kinetics of liquid bead array approach
• Broad coverage of applications, including protein expression and gene expression profilingHow Luminex xMAP technology works
Sets of magnetic microspheres are color-coded with combinations of red and infrared fluorophores. Each bead set is coated with a reagent specific to a particular bioassay, allowing the capture and detection of several specific analytes from a single sample. Optics in the compact analyzer excite the internal dyes that identify each microsphere as well as any reporter dye captured, providing quantitation of individual analytes on each microsphere. The analyzer reads many beads from each set, enabling rapid and precise results for several targets within a single sample.
