Description

Ponceau S dye is used to make a stain for rapid reversible staining of protein bands on nitrocellulose or PVDF membranes (Western blots) and also for staining protein on cellulose acetate membranes. It is also suitable for electrophoresis, azo dye for reversible protein staining. This stain can also be used as a fiducial marker in mass spectrometric imaging.

Solubility
Soluble in water (10 g/L) at 20°C. Insoluble in ether.
