We have not validated the use of LIVE/DEAD Viability/Cytotoxicity Assay Kit (Green/Deep Red)(Cat. No. L32250) on bacteria, fungi or protozoa. In general, calcein, AM does not work well with bacteria due to their low intracellular esterase activity. Some protozoa may readily engulf cell impermeant stains and result in intracellular staining of live cells.

If you need to use a defined concentration of Calcein, AM we offer this as a standalone product (Cat. Nos. C3099 and C3100MP). If you need to use a defined concentration of SYTOX Deep Red Nucleic Acid stain we offer this as a standalone product (Cat. Nos. S11380 and S11380).
