MitoTracker® Deep Red FM is a far red-fluorescent dye (abs/em ∼644/665 nm) that stains mitochondria in live cells and can be used for mitochondrial localization. The dye is well-retained after aldehyde fixation and even subsequent permeabilization with detergents.

Live-cell imaging with CellLight ER-RFP and MitoTracker® Deep Red FM in HeLa cells.
Live-cell imaging with Organelle Lights™ ER-RFP and MitoTracker® Deep Red FM in HeLa cells. HeLa cells were transduced with Organelle Lights™ ER-RFP and co-stained with 50 nM MitoTracker® Deep Red FM and 1 mg/ml Hoechst 33342. Imaging was performed on live cells using a Delta Vision Core microscope and standard DAPI/TRITC/Cy5 filter sets.
A549 cells were co-transduced with CellLight® Late Endosomes-GFP CellLight® Golgi-RFP and incubated overnight. Following staining with MitoTracker® Deep Red, cells were imaged on a Zeiss LSM confocal microscope.

HeLa cells were co-transduced with CellLight® Nucleus-CFP and incubated overnight. Following staining with MitoTracker® Deep Red, cells were imaged on a Zeiss 710 confocal microscope.
