All NanoDrop Ultra instruments come with an integrated RESTful API. Please refer to the NanoDrop Ultra API Reference Manual, available on our website, for more information on how to connect to and use the API. Visit www.thermofisher.com/nanodrop.
Optional SciVault 2 Software installs on either the instrument or a companion PC and gives labs the tools they need to comply with US FDA 21 CFR Part 11. This software allows NanoDrop Ultra users to manage user accounts, control user account access, apply digital signatures, and maintain audit logging.
Acclaro Pro is an optional enhanced software package for NanoDrop Ultra. It incorporates advanced algorithms and expanded measurement applications designed for higher accuracy (e.g., ±5% error across a wider dynamic range) and better performance with highly concentrated or regulated samples. This is especially useful in biopharma, QC, and manufacturing contexts where tighter quantitation and broader applications are needed.
The NanoDrop UltraC includes both the standard microvolume pedestal and an additional cuvette port for measuring dilute or larger-volume samples, whereas the NanoDrop Ultra is pedestal-only.
The NanoDrop UltraC includes both the standard microvolume pedestal and an additional cuvette port for measuring dilute or larger-volume samples, whereas the NanoDrop Ultra is pedestal-only.
The NanoDrop Ultra is for Research Use Only (not a medical device). Follow the user guide for electrical, laser, and chemical warnings, as well as decontamination procedures.
Typical accessories include lint-free wipes, PV-1 verification solution, PR-1 reconditioning compound, NanoDrop Ultra FL dsDNA and RNA fluorescence assays (NanoDrop Ultra FL / NanoDrop UltraC FL models), and an optional cuvette holder for dilute samples (NanoDrop UltraC model). See the accessory list in the product page or manual.
Use the NanoDrop Ultra instrument’s built-in performance verification diagnostic and the recommended PV-1 solution (Performance Verification solution) as described in the user guide. Verification every 6 months is recommended to confirm accuracy.
A PC is not required as the NanoDrop Ultra comes with a touch screen UI. An optional PC control software can be utilized. PC requirements are covered in the NanoDrop Ultra user guide, and the PC Control software is compatible with Windows 10 (Professional and Enterprise) and Windows 11 (Professional and Enterprise).
The NanoDrop Ultra is a full-spectrum UV-Vis microvolume spectrophotometer that can measure between 190-850 nm.
Yes. The NanoDrop Ultra FL models include fluorescence capability (LED excitation) so you can measure both absorbance and fluorescence on one instrument.
All NanoDrop Ultra models can make microvolume absorbance measurements with sample volumes as low as 1.0 µL. The NanoDrop Ultra FL models can also make microvolume fluorescence measurements with sample volumes as low as 2.0 µL.
